The future of research ethics is the focus of this conference hosted by the Joint Centre for Bioethics. The research environment is changing in response to new technologies, new drugs, genomics and new guidelines. The impact on researchers, research review boards and their members and administrators, and industry partners has been considerable. Issues of privacy, conflicts of interest, protection of subjects, qualifications of researchers in research ethics and credentials of REB members and administrators are just some of the challenges. This conference will address some of these issues in an interactive format.
