Shawn Winsor is the Ethicist at LifeQuest Centre for Reproductive Medicine (Toronto) and an independent consultant in bioethics. Previously, Shawn was Director of the Ethics Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and, prior to that, the Ethicist Lead at Trillium Health Centre (Mississauga) where he founded the Regional Bioethics Network for the Mississauga-Halton LHIN.

 

Shawn’s bioethics education includes an MHSc in Bioethics (2003) and a post-graduate Clinical Ethics Fellowship (2004), both from the University of Toronto. Shawn is Course Director of the Practicum (MSC3008Y) in the MHSc (Bioethics) at the University of Toronto and co-chairs the Joint Centre for Bioethic’s Ethics Consultation Documentation Practices Working Group. He is also a member of the Ontario Cancer Research Ethics Board (OCREB).

 

Shawn continues to teach widely and to pursue research in his primary areas of interest: bioethics program development and evaluation, and access to assisted reproductive health services.
