Kevin is co-Director of MSC3001Y in the JCB MHSc (Bioethics) program. He became the ethicist at Southlake Regional Health Centre and York Central Hospital in 2009 after completing the JCB Fellowship in Clinical and Organizational Ethics.
Kevin began studying medical ethics as an undergraduate in occupational therapy at the University of Toronto (1991). He went on to complete a PG Dip in healthcare ethics at the Centre of Medical Law and Ethics at King’s College, London (2001) and an MSc in Medical Ethics at Imperial College, London (2002). He subsequently served as a member of the Thames Valley Multi-centre Research Ethics Committee for three years before returning to Toronto. He also gained a postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education from Oxford Brookes University, where he was Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Field Chair and Acting Director of Pre-Qualifying Programmes.
Kevin is the Chair of PHEEP (Practising Healthcare Ethicists Exploring Professionalization) a pan-Canada group of healthcare ethics practitioners working to develop practice standards for the field.
A registered occupational therapist, Kevin holds a status appointment with the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto, where he is also a member of the OSOT Research Committee.
